Working
with theme in Of Mice and Men
Pick 2 of the following themes:
Dreams,
Loneliness, Differences, Death, Friendship
Then create a page with:
- Find
or create three different artistic examples of the theme (for an A) or two examples (for a B).
- For
each artistic example, explain how the picture is related to the theme.
- For
each artistic example, include a quote with page number that is related to
the theme. Explain what the quote is saying about the theme.

Find/write a poem that helps either explain
how they feel about that theme or would give good advice as to how they should
deal with that issue.

you could write a 5- paragraph compare/contrast paper
1. Compare the character of Candy to his dog
2. Compare the relationship between Candy and his dog to
the relationship between George and Lennie
3. Contrast the way Lennie relates to Crooks to the way
Curley’s wife relates to Crooks
- Compare the killing of Candy’s dog to the killing of Lennie
Make sure you have an intro (with a grabber and thesis), 1-3
body paragraphs, and a conclusion (restate thesis and kicker).
